Principal's Weekly Message

Principal's weekly message

May 28, 2021

Hello SEMS Families,

Students received an email on Thursday, May 27 with a link to sign up for SEMS Summer Programs from June 14-25. These programs will be offered to all students who may be interested in academic remediation, enrichment, self-guided academic support, physical activity, social-emotional learning, and the arts. I encourage you to speak with your student about these offerings and sign up for any programs that may be of interest.

Promotion information was sent to 8th grade families on Thursday, May 27. If you have not done so, please check your email for promotion information. LEVs families who will be attending in-person promotion can pick up tickets from the PAC on June 7 from 1-3pm. If families need more information about the promotion please refer to the website.

VIP Days for our current 6th and 7th grade students are scheduled for August 9 and 11 from 8am - 12pm. VIP Days are an opportunity to collect textbooks and school items and tour the SEMS campus. More information will follow in early August.

Reminder there will be no school on Monday, May 31 as we commemorate Memorial Day. May we take some time to remember the sacrifice of those who have given their lives in service.

Every Memorial Day, the U.S. flag is quickly raised to the tops of flagpoles, slowly lowered to half-mast, and then raised again to full height at noon. The time at half-mast is meant to honor the million-plus fallen U.S. soldiers who have died for their country over the years. Re-raising the flag is meant to symbolize the resolve of the living to carry on the fight for freedom so that the nation's heroes will not have died in vain.

Thank you once again SEMS families for all your support and safe travels to all those who will be heading out of town.

Sincerely,
Mr. Zeait
