Semester I                

San Elijo Middle School is offering several after-school Support tutoring options for SEMS students! These classes will be offered to students who may be interested in academic remediation, check in with a content specialist, or need a place to work. Please read the descriptions below for more information about the classes offered. 

After-School Program Choices 

For:  Current 6-8 Grade Students 

Dates: September 26 - November 17, 2022 

Times:  Classes vary on times. Please look at each description below

Location:  SEMS (Please look at specific description of location) 


After School Drop-In Sessions:

Students are able to drop in any day the sessions are offered in the below areas.  Attendance is taken, but students can come or leave at any time during the designated time frame.  There is no requirement to sign up prior to these sessions; however, once capacity is reached, students will be turned away for that session.


AVID Tutorials 

Current 6th-grade AVID students who need additional academic and organizational support using the AVID strategies. Students needing an opportunity for supervised Community Service can drop in as well. Starts 9/29/22

Español en Conversación y Más

Cultura y más is designed for current 8th-grade students currently enrolled in Spanish at SEMS. Maestra Murray will review and support the progress of students in Spanish 1 with assignments and lessons taught in class. Starts 9/26/22

Homework Time

Current 6th-8th grade students will be able to work independently or in a small group setting in all subject areas with adult supervision.

Language Arts 6th Grade

Current 6th-grade students will have the opportunity for after-school language arts tutoring for additional support with classwork, homework, and/or projects.  Starts 9/29/22

Exploring Music through Ensembles 

Current 6th-8th grade students will have access to build community across skill and grade levels. Musicians will focus on concepts in world music and music specific to their instruments.

Technology 6th, 7th & 8th Grade 

Current 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students will have an extension of their regular school year in critical thinking, engineering, coding, and collaboration. An open lab opportunity to work on assignments, and projects, and build upon tech skills. Starts 9/27/22
