6th Grade Science 

At San Elijo Middle School, our 6th grade Science students will focus on the three-dimensional learning model of the Next Generation Science Standards using the Interdisciplinary model of Earth, Life and Physical Science. The year will be divided into 5 main units: Light and Matter, Cells and the Human Body, Thermal Energy, and Weather. 6th grade students will be required to collaborate with their peers, as well as use scientific equipment and technology as tools for learning throughout the school year. 

7th Grade Science 

At San Elijo Middle School, our 7th grade Science students will focus on the three-dimensional learning model of the Next Generation Science Standards using the Interdisciplinary model of Earth, Life and Physical Science. The year will be divided into four main units: Delete Earth’s Natural Processes and Resource Distribution units. Add Photosynthesis, Metabolism units. “7th graders will be required to collaborate with their peers, model their thinking, and use scientific equipment……”

8th Grade Science 

At San Elijo Middle School, our 8th grade Science students will focus on the three-dimensional learning model of the Next Generation Science Standards using the Interdisciplinary model of Earth, Life and Physical Science. The year will be divided into 5 main units: Change to Earth’s Place in Space**, and change Heredity to Genetics, Add Forces at a Distance to units. Eighth grade students will be required to collaborate with their peers, as well as use scientific equipment and techno.
