Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2026-27 San Elijo Middle School year! 

As summer comes to a close, I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful break and are ready for the routines of the upcoming school year. We are excited to kick things off with our Welcome Days next week and can't wait to see everyone there! Detailed information regarding these events is included below.

Our instructional focus at SEMS remains grounded in the  SMUSD’s Middle School Experience.  In particular, we will be focused on Pillar 4: Skills Driven and Relevant.  We know that our early adolescent learners need to see the relevance of their learning and to be challenged with deep learning opportunities.  Our focus will be on creating a community grounded in excellence and authentic learning. 

We are excited to embark on our learning journey together this year with our students! Please know that we are here to work alongside you in support of your child.
